About Us

Artistic Director Michael Vaughn has a vision for bringing a unique arts identity to Fishers, creating a concert experience that is like no other. While performing masterworks written for more petite ensembles, he has also programmed jazz and new age music by composers such as local gem, Becky Archibald, whose music is frequently heard on NPR’s All Things Considered, and who was the featured guest artist for our premiere season opener in October 2006.

Lifelong Hoosiers, and Fishers residents since 2000, Michael and Nana have been active musicians, subbing in the Indianapolis Symphony and Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, while also serving as musical leaders in regional orchestras throughout Indiana. While traveling to cities like Muncie and Richmond to play in ensembles there, they felt it a shame that a wonderful, vibrant town like Fishers did not have a professional musical ensemble of its own. And so, the dream began to take shape.

In 2005, the two of them began to take steps to make the dream come true. Made up of some of the finest professional musicians in Indiana, the high artistic level of our group has quickly become admired throughout the region.

As the Fishers Chamber Orchestra begins to take root, we hope to provide many years of enjoyment and inspiration in the wonderful town of Fishers, Indiana!
